Our staff of ophthalmic technicians, licensed practical nurses, opticians, and other specialists work together with Dr. Currier to screen and treat visual problems. Individualized care and comfort is our first priority.

OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIANS
All technicians employed by Northern Eye work under the direction of Dr. Robert Currier. A technician will take your medical history, verify your medications and perform a preliminary work up prior to your seeing the doctor.
Robert M. Currier, D.O., F.O.C.O.O.
Born and raised in Jackson, Michigan, Dr. Currier is the medical director at Northern Eye. He is a licensed physician and surgeon, and a Fellow of the Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and Otorhinolaryngology. Dr. Currier was trained at FOH in ophthalmic surgery including time at St. Vincent's Hospital-Toledo (retina), Bon Secours-Detroit (retina), Children's Hospital Detroit (pediatric ophthalmology), University of Texas-Houston (basic science in ophthalmology), as well as Illinois Ear and Eye Infirmary-Chicago (cornea).
A board certified ophthalmologist, he is a member of the Michigan Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Ophthalmological Society, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the American Osteopathic Association.
RECEPTION
Our receptionists are trained to triage your phone call. They will collect and verify information from you. Please have your insurance information and/or drop refill information handy when you call.

BILLING
Our billing staff will bill your insurance using the most current coding system available. They will assist you with all reasonable attempts in collecting from your insurance company. If they are not available at the time of your call, please leave a voice mail message and someone will return you call.

SURGICAL COORDINATOR
Jayne is our surgical coordinator. Jayne will schedule your surgery, pre and post operative appointments, order any necessary lab testing, and coordinate with your family physician in an efficient and caring manner.

Whether you are scheduling an in-office procedure or hospital- based procedure, Jayne will see that your testing and necessary paperwork is completed. If you have any questions concerning your upcoming surgery or are contemplating eye surgery, feel free to call Jayne.
